Ashley Frieze is a larger than life joker, who playfully teases the audience into laughter one minute, and then blasts them with comic energy the next. As a musical comedian, Ashley has a guitar case full of comic songs and musical observations. His likeable, electric onstage persona makes him the perfect act to add variety and energy to any line up.

JAMES COOK

Birmingham based comedian James Cook is recently back on the comedy circuit full time after seven years as an NTL Award-winning commercial radio presenter.

His act has been described as “truly original” (Danny Wallace (off of the telly)), whereas he’s been called “suave and chirpy” by the world famous Bromsgrove Advertiser, and a “sarcastic raconteur” by the Leeds Metro.

For some reason, this means that he has been likened to “the future Frank Skinner” (Birmingham Metro) and “Dylan Moran’s younger brother” (The Stage). How this is possible remains a mystery.

A slightly less lazy journalist said that he “shows scant regard for the hackneyed conventions of stand-up” (The Scotsman) which, he’s been assured, is a Good Thing.

James won a Jongleurs/Spike Milligan award for Stand-up in 2003. He’s been onstage with A-ha, presented Lenny Henry with his Walk Of Fame Star and been a guest judge on the Dancing On Ice tour at the Nottingham Arena in front of 10,000 people.

Matt has been performing stand up comedy since 2003 with a mixture of high energy observational and topical jokes combined with more personal stories and anecdotes.

He has performed four successful solo shows at the Pleasance in Edinburgh and in 2011 his show was nominated for Best New Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival.

JULIET MEYERS: I’M NOT SPARTACUS

Juliet is passionate about big things (evil b*st*rds) and little things (disappointing magicians). She can stand up and be funny, but can she stand up and be counted like Spartacus and friends? (No knowledge of the film or gladiators required!) Expect moments of silliness, audience voting and petty rebellion. There are even stories about reluctantly hosting a strip club and trying to save the world but accidentally breaking it.

ASHLEY FRIEZE: THE SEVEN DEADLY SINGS (REMASTERED)

In a fast-paced, informative, hilarious hour this heavyweight musical comedian will prove to you that there are only seven songs in the world. Discover Elton John’s failed stand-up career, how to neutralise a rap and be dazzled by Beethoven’s inability to write a love song. Bring your favourite songs along to find out they’re probably just a remake of I Should Be So Lucky.
